POLCOLORIT SA is the oldest private ceramics manufacturer in Poland.

The company is active in the ceramics industry, and for 25 years has been producing a very rich assortment of ceramic floor and wall tiles, taking a leading place among Polish manufacturers.

The factory is situated close to the Karkonosze mountain range, on international route E 65, which runs via Jelenia Góra to Szklarska Poręba and on to the Czech border.

The beginnings of POLCOLORIT SA reach back to the 1980s. On 5 May 1984 the firm received a permit from the Provincial Offices in Jelenia Góra, and began operating under the name Przedsiębiorstwo Zagraniczne POLCOLORIT SC. It was initially based in Pakoszów, a district of Piechowice.

In the years 1984–1988 POLCOLORIT produced decorative ceramic tiles exclusively for ZPC Opoczno. At the end of 1988 the company took over a former sawmill in Piechowice and began developing the site. At that time the company moved to its present headquarters. POLCOLORIT was forced by the economic situation then existing in Poland, and by the legal regulations in force, to produce palettes for sale in Italy in order to obtain foreign currency to buy abroad the raw materials it needed to manufacture ceramic tiles.

On 2 January 1997, as a result of a change of legal form, the limited company Przedsiębiorstwo Zagraniczne POLCOLORIT Sp. z o.o. was founded. On 31 May 2004, following a further transformation, the company POLCOLORIT SA was entered in the National Court Register of Businesses at number KRS0000209059.

Since the beginning, the firm has been owned exclusively by the Marconi family, based in the ceramics region of Sassuolo in Italy. It is their Italian contacts and experience that have enabled POLCOLORIT to make use of the latest Italian ceramics technology, create modern Italian designs and apply Western organizational standards.

The collection is distinguished by the decorative tiles which combine fine stone with glass, metal and natural stone. There is always great interest in the hand-painted tiles, depicting scenes of various types, often made to customers’ individual order.

The principal goal of the management of POLCOLORIT and Ceramika Marconi and the people around them is to continually ensure the high quality of the company’s products and image, as is evidenced by numerous certificates and positive audits carried out by specialist bodies. In 2003 we became the first manufacturer of ceramic tiles to obtain an ISO 9001 certificate for its products. Moreover Polcolorit SA, and in 2006 also Ceramika Marconi Sp z o.o., have introduced an integrated quality management system incorporating a Quality System, a Health and Safety at Work System and an Environmental Protection System.

Pressure from customers expecting new designs and collections, as well as competition from other manufacturers, mean that Polcolorit, now with an almost 25-year presence on Polish and foreign markets, is constantly striving to extend its product range and to perfect the quality it offers for the satisfaction of its customers.
